We've lost it, and I'm not mad

ASOS hat, flannel from a friend, Cheap Monday jeans, vintage blazer, Aldo wedges

In honor of the long President's day weekend, Laura and I decided to...postpone some of our schoolwork, and explore Chinatown instead. I don't really know why, but we both decided that it was integral that we wear our highest heels to navigate around Mott and Elizabeth street. Probably not our finest moment. We redeemed ourselves however, when we happened upon an amazeballs vegetarian dim sum restaurant, and promptly gorged ourselves on soy shrimp dumplings, capital chicken and the fluffiest vegan bbq pork buns. Huzzah!

Eyeballer

Michael Kors bag, Uniqlo coat, Silence & Noise jeans, Doc Martens boots

I went to lunch yesterday with my mom at Momo Caffe on west 10th and Waverly. It was awesome, really simple and fresh Italian food. This outfit is a perfect example of what I wear around the village- usually black jeans, always docs, always my Uniqlo wool coat, and recently my new MK handbag. Kinda safe, but I normally look a bit edgier because of the undercut. It's grown in a bit, which I didn't realize. But don't worry- I am now bald and beautiful once more!

bougie biddies in the city

Vintage coat, H&M blouse, mom's lurex jumper, F21 faux leather shorts, doc martens boots, Michael Kors handbag, vintage jewelry
I'm not really one for designer labels- for example, check out my vintage no-name coat right hurr. It's so Mad Men, right? I feel like drinking an old-fashioned (or 5) and neglecting my children every time I put it on. However, I was lucky enough to get this Michael Kors bag the other day, gratis. Its buttery brown color, rose gold (!!!) hardware, and perfect shape made me shriek p̶r̶o̶f̶u̶s̶e̶l̶y̶ a little when I saw it. I've never owned anything remotely like a designer bag before, but I really do understand what all the hype is about. It's such nice quality, so strong, and definitely eye-catching. I'll always be one for spending money on good groceries and other necessities rather than saving up for something by Balmain, but I feel really fortunate to have gotten this piece, and will certainly treasure it.

Similar to this look: Alexander Wang bag w/ rose gold hardware, Miss Selfridge faux fur collared coat

Tonight I celebrated Galentines Day instead of Valentines Day with my roommate! We're both in long distance relationships, so we spent the evening together- making pizza with baked eggs on top and homemade banana nutella crepes, and watching the biggest loser. A MOST romantic night, if I do say so myself.

Me trying unsuccessfully to stuff Nanu into the MK bag. I guess she'll never be a fashion cat!

Kumbaya watching them pants drop

A little visual Smorgasbord of the past week:

That's right, mofos: I wear leopard print baseball caps. And turtlenecks. My roommate thinks I'm already turning into one of them crazy, backward Europeans, but I tell her...well, actually I tell her that yes, I probably am.

My dresser table and my 4 most-used toiletries: Flaxseed Oil vitamins, Marc Jacobs' Fig, Bumble & Bumble leave-in conditioner, and Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus hair cream.

Non-fashiony, but VERY important to me. My a cappella group the NYU N'Harmonics went to competition this past Saturday, and I arranged the above song (I also sing the solo in the second part). It won best arrangement, which made me indescribably happy because it's like my baby. We also won the competition overall, so I'd love it if you'd watch!!

who would steal a tiny tail?

BDG backpack, Nom de Plume dress, Doc Martens boots, vintage necklace, hat from Ireland

You guys better like this post, because the process of getting the pictures from my memory card onto a usable CD was absolute hell today. It was worth it though, because I couldn't wait to show you my new backpack and little furry friend! I got the pink faux fur fox tail from Ebay for a steal, and attached it to my new white backpack. White might be a tad impractical, but I loved that its shape was so similar to my old beloved backpack, and it's proving to be surprisingly versatile. Also, I've discovered that my rooftop is the best place to take outfit photos, and that jumping in photographs is basically the most fun I've ever had.
