So in exactly one hour, a hurricane- the likes of which hasn't been seen in the northeast since 1985- is supposed to touch down in the NYC area. Should be interesting. I wore my best Canadian tuxedo for the occasion. I suppose I'll be spending the night eating lemon cake and watching the last few episodes of Twin Peaks on netflix. Hope to see you on the other side!

belongs to love
I'm moving into my first apartment in September 1st. It's a little place to be sure, but the location is so dreamy. I've heard lots of people have always wanted to live in the heart of Greenwich Village. Like that guy, uhh I think his name was Bob Dylan? I was inspired by these photos of Karen Inderbitzen-Walller and Delphine Avril Planqueel's (great names, huh?) home. It's filled with things without being "cluttered", and I like their neutral pinks and greens color palate. Just replace the bunny with a small black cat and it's perfection. If you have any tips for making a small space beautiful, give me a shout! xx

Puerta Viejo

AA leotard, vintage jewelry, Zara skirt
This plant was just one of the many displays of Costa Rican foliage we have in our backyard here. We're staying at the Caribbean coast on the outskirts a rastafarian town, where locals and California surfers exist in harmony, with this intoxicating nature in the background. I never thought I'd wake up, lie in a hammock and drink my coffee while listening to the sounds of spider monkeys and tucans arguing in the trees above me.

girl with the golden arm
Trying desperately to pack for my trip to Costa Rica tomorrow morning, and kicking myself repeatedly for procrastinating so much. It'll be good to get away, things have been difficult here and the summer itself has not been what I expected. Not in a bad way, it's just been different. So here's to white sand beaches, craggy mountains and the possibility of being tan...for once.

naïve huntress
vintage blouse, bdg jeans, michael kors watch, mia shoes, bag from Montreal
I go thrifting a lot, but because it's usually at cheapo places I wind up buying a ton of things and then don't have time to post them all. This blouse was the best find at the Salvation Army a few weeks ago. Salv's can be hit or miss, but I've found that the best 2 in my area are in Jersey, close to where I live, and in Williamsburg (BK).
I don't know if you can tell in these pictures, but I've been "doing" my brows lately, meaning that I've been penciling them in with this brow shaper I got at Sephora. It works really well, and it makes me feel more polished. I don't wax or thread my brows or anything, so it's pretty perfect for lazy ol' me. I might do a makeup post soon.
