L'été Commence

“Between the covers of the books that no one had ever read again, in the old parchments damaged by dampness, a livid flower had prospered, and in the air that had been the purest and brightest in the house an unbearable smell of rotten memories floated.”

Louve

Everyone should check out CryWolf, it's a really awesome new online boutique. Think OakNYC sensibilities, with a Pixie Market pricepoint. It's the best of both worlds, I think...

Une Petite Histoire

She took the purplish, dying flowers in her hands, turning them over slowly in between her fingers. She plucked a bud off of one of the stems and crushed it with her thumb and index, rolling it and suffocating it until it was nothing but dust.

"Talia!" she heard her friend's voice, exasperated, "Why do you keep stopping? We need to get there."
"It's not that important, Mar, we're not the people they're going to be excited to see." She whispered this, because it would certainly distress Mar.
She walked over to her group, pushing back her hair, which needed a washing, and retying her boots, which were too heavy, she realized, for running. That was too bad, because it looked like rain and running in the rain was one of her joys. They lit cigarettes in unison and walked the rest of the way in relative silence.

Upon arriving at the place, which wound up being a garage, the pack of girls split up and they went around saying hey to everyone else who was already there. There were beanbag chairs all around, and a few people were congregated around an elaborate green hookah, which explained the scent of fruit. The smoke hung in the air and snaked into people's hair and underneath their fingernails. Most of the guests were just smoking and drinking however; it was that awkward time at a party when everyone is still trying to get drunk, so they can be themselves.

I know people get bored of too much text on a blog, but I like to write and sometimes post little snippets of past or present stories. Hope it's not too boring; I've just been crammed with thoughts lately and I needed to get them out somehow...

Cette Fille Insolente

Giberte's every posture was still governed by the unconcern of childish innocence. At times she looked like Robin Hood, at others like a carved angel, or again like a boy in skirts; but she seldom resembled a nearly grown up girl.

"You remind me of a performing monkey," Lachaille said to her. "I liked you much better in your old tartan dress. In that collar you look just like a hen with an old crop. Take a look at yourself!"

She was losing some of her sweetness and...would complain of not being able to sleep. She was gradually slipping into a state of idleness, which her grandmother noticed, but did nothing to overcome.

Je Suis Rentrée

UO Sweatshirt, Vintage shorts, Doc Marten boots
Things I'm excited about:
* DebyDebo- An uber cute french line that's breezy, feminine and totally perfect for summer 09.
*ErgyErg- Haha do you see a pattern with the names of these sites I'm visiting? This one is full of one-of-a-kind pieces, with a kind of Gothic Lolita vibe.
* The Dead Weather- Jack White's new band. I'm already obsessed. Try putting Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Jack Laurence from The Raconteurs and Dean Fertita from Queens of the Stone Age...undeniably rad.

By the way, I'm really sorry for being such a bad blogger. With SATs, finals, sicknesses and generally being uninspired, it's been an annoying couple of weeks to say the least. But now summer is essentially here, there will be no more standardized anythings, and the Boyf is at Bonaroo, so I can focus on more fashion-related endeavors from here on out. Thanks for sticking with me!
