Monday Blues

Nobody likes Mondays. I was going to try to come up with something super special to wear, but I'm glad I wore this. It's comfy.

My bangs are an awkward length again. I can cut them a little myself, but I'm wary of going overboard. I did that once over the summer, and...urmgh...it was a bad time for me. I'm getting a haircut for the first time in about twelve years (only a slight exaggeration) on November 14th.

Just Like Real

Today my mother very generously took my outfit pictures. I feel so spoiled, after relying on self-timer for so long.

Anyway, I went to music school today. I was going to go vintage shopping with two of my friends, but after I got back from the city I was so exhausted that we decided to reschedule. Also, my friend's suprise breakfast party was today, but I couldn't go because of music school :( It's alright though, because she is having another party next Saturday night.

I found these socks yesterday, and I knew I had to wear them. The shoes are usually quite comfortable for walking around the city, but I have big blisters on my heels from wearing shoes a size and a half too small the other day, so they weren't as fab as usual. Those shoes are worth it though, as I had to fight some chick in Lord and Taylors for them...but that is a story for another day.

Airy

Aira is a collaboration line designed by sisters Annie and Karen Lin, young women fresh from Parsons. Their design aesthetic combines classic lines and sharp tailoring with a whimsical love of movement and sense of playfulness in their creations. Their collection for Spring/Summer 09 has been recently released onto their website, and their clothing has only just been made avaiable in a few stores.

Aira's newest collection is a wonder of form, drape and color that is amazingly modern without being at all trendy. They can certainly cut a fine top, but their best work is put into their dresses, which range from edgy club wear to tea with the queen...enjoy :)

Alors, Vous-Etes Francais?

Je pense que je veux mettre cette page en Francais aussi, mais je ne suis pas sur, parce que je n'ecris pas bien, et il n'y a pas des accents ici pour mettre avec les mots...dommage...

Anyway, although I do not write well in French, I am able to speak it. Language is a passion of mine, and French is especially close to my heart. I am not French, but I was born in Paris, and I lived in Toulouse last summer (you have probably seen the copious amounts of pictures from that time on this blog).

I wrote a bit about French style when I was there, and still I marvel at the fact that the French women and girls exude such a sensuality, and yet don't feel the need to wear skintight or trashy clothes, as do so many girls in the US. There are some beautiful girls who exemplify this style, and who luckily have their own blogs for me to drool over:

I have also made a Polyvore collage, for my own take on the magie!

BOO

Last night I went with my friends out to support some local bands. The theme was Halloween. Needless to say, we banged out.

Comfy

I didn't wear this exact outfit today, but the sweatshirt was so comfortable that I just had to take a picture in it. I promise no more outfit posts for a while, I'll try to do something a little more interesting next time :)
Went to music school today, it was lovely. Unfortunately, I have to take a practice SAT tomorrow :(

Boo.

College Tourin'

So I went on my first college tour today, to Columbia. It was wonderful, so interesting and so much fun! I wasn't prepared to like it as much as I did. I kind of hope all the tours won't be like this; if that's the case I'll be applying to twenty colleges!!

Happiness

I'm having a truly great day today. I finished the novel that I've been working on for over a year, and we are planning on sending it out to publishers!! It's called The Lives of Caged Wonders, which explains the name of this blog.

I Has a Wee Crush

On Loeffler Randall. The lookbook for Spring 09 is something to flip over, and makes me wish the warm weather was back! The clothing is colorful, edgy, and perfectly feminine. It also has great, really flattering lines that will make any wearer feel like a million bucks...

Check out the website and drool some more:

Tall

I love wearing these shoes, because not only are they suprisingly comfortable, they make me super tall. Not to mention I have a formidable weapon, should anyone try to attack me (which is highly possible).

Alors, C'est Tres Mingnon!

I have recently joined the Modepass community, and it's so much fun! It's like Facebook and a blog all rolled in one. There are some seriously chic girls who frequent it, like her:

Check it out, and add me!
